Chelsea's fresh plan to win race for Rennes' Jeremy Jacquet revealed

Chelsea are reportedly willing to try a different tactic to help secure the signing of Rennes defender Jeremy Jacquet ahead of their rivals.

It’s understood that the Premier League club have been in talks with Jacquet and his club over a potential move this month.

Rennes are standing firm on their €60 million valuation of the 20-year-old, however, meaning Chelsea may have to alter their approach.

According to RMC Sport, Chelsea are now willing to sign the defender outright and then send him back to Rennes on loan for the rest of the season.

Chelsea are hoping to steal a march on the likes of Arsenal and Man United who have also been linked with a move for Jacquet.
