Manchester City have agreed a deal to sign Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi in a major January move.

Palace are on the verge of losing Guehi to City after reaching an agreement in principle as reported by transfer expert Ben Jacobs on Friday afternoon in one of the biggest stories of the winter window.

“BREAKING: Manchester City have agreed a deal in principle to sign Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi in January. Personal terms are already in place. Move expected to be finalised in coming days.

“Liverpool never had any plans to bid this winter.”

The 25-year-old will not be part of Palace's squad to face Sunderland as confirmed by manager Oliver Glasner who is ready to lose the England international whose contract expires in the summer.

City have been trying to negotiate Palace down from their 335M asking price and journalist Fabrizio Romano reports that the deal is for around 320M, less than what Liverpool agreed in the summer.

“BREAKING: Marc Guehi to Manchester City, HERE WE GO! ????

“Official proposal accepted by Crystal Palace right now — understand fee will be around 320m.

“Guehi has ACCEPTED move to #MCFC.

“Exclusive story, now confirmed.”

City have already signed Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth in the current transfer window for 362.5m and Guardiola is keen to bolster his injury riddled defense as he chases down Arsenal in the Premier League title race.
