Atletico Madrid keen on Wolves midfielder as Conor Gallagher replacement

Atletico Madrid are reportedly keen on signing Wolves midfielder Joao Gomes after selling Conor Gallagher to Tottenham.

Former Chelsea midfielder Gallagher, 25, joined Tottenham for a reported 334 million, ending his stint in the Spanish capital.

According to Marca, Atletico are looking to replace the midfielder and have Wolves ace Gomes, 24, at the top of their shortlist.

It’s understood that a move for the Brazilian may not be straight forward, however, with Man United and Napoli also keen.

Gomes has been almost ever present for struggling Wolves so far this season, starting 18 of his 20 Premier League games, but failing to make a single goal contribution.
