Peter Crouch nearly spoiled his wife Abbey Clancy's 40th birthday by accidentally leaving a special gift on the London Underground.
The 44-year-old former England striker forgot to pick up a bag from high-end jeweler Jessica McCormack. However, a quick-thinking fellow passenger noticed the forgotten item after Crouch disembarked at his East London stop last Friday and promptly reached out to the celebrity couple via Instagram.
Upon being contacted, Abbey Clancy—who turns 40 the following day—responded, "Oh my God, it's my birthday tomorrow. Must have been my present." The passenger confirmed the bag had been handed in to station staff and later shared a lighthearted TikTok video of the lost item, captioning it: "Point of view: Peter Crouch leaves Abbey’s birthday present on the Tube."
While the specific item purchased remains undisclosed, Jessica McCormack's collections include pieces valued up to £305,000. It is not known whether the gift was retrieved in time for Abbey's birthday celebrations last Saturday. A representative for the couple did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Despite this misstep, Abbey later expressed gratitude to Peter for organizing a surprise trip to Paris with her closest friends and family over the birthday weekend. Sharing on Instagram, she wrote: "What a weekend. I feel so, so loved. Thank you to my amazing husband."
