Roma chief shuts down talk of 'highly unlikely' Joshua Zirkzee deal with Man United
Roma chief Ricky Massara has admitted that a deal to sign Joshua Zirkzee from Man United is now 'highly unlikely.'
Zirkzee, 24, has reportedly been pushing for a move away from Man United due to his lack of minutes and ambition to play in the summer’s World Cup.
Roma were very interested in bringing the striker back to the Serie A, but Massara has admitted that is now ‘highly unlikely’ following United decision to sack Ruben Amorim.
Speaking to DAZN Italia about the club’s January transfer window ambitions, he said: “With regards to Zirkzee, at this moment Manchester United have completely closed off any discussion about the transfer market, as with the change of coach, they don’t want any movement. So it seems highly unlikely that they’ll change their minds.”
He admitted that Roma are in negotiations to sign Giacomo Raspadori from Atletico Madrid, however: “The negotiations for Raspadori exist, I think they are reaching a conclusion fairly quickly one way or another.
“Tomorrow is a plausible time where we can have a clearer view of the whole scenario,”
