Aston Villa exploring deal to sign Conor Gallagher from Atletico Madrid

Aston Villa are reportedly exploring the possible signing of midfielder Conor Gallagher from Atletico Madrid.

The 25-year-old joined the Spanish giants from Chelsea back in the summer of 2024 but after initially impressing has fallen down the pecking order.

Gallagher has started just four of his 19 La Liga games so far this season, yielding a grand total of just 665 minutes.

According to Sky Sports, Aston Villa are seriously considering a move for the midfielder on an initial loan with an option to buy.

It’s understood that Atletico Madrid are unwilling to let him leave unless there is at least an obligation rather than an option.
