Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is one step closer to a sensational Man United return with face-to-face talks planned.

Man United are in the process of figuring out what comes next after the decided to sack Ruben Amorim earlier in the week.

Former midfielder Darren Fletcher has since taken caretaker charge, leading them through a frustrating 2-2 Premier League draw with Burnley on Wednesday (January 7).

According to Sky Sports, the club are set to hold face-to-face talks with Solskjaer, 52, over a potential return on Saturday (January 10).

It’s understood that the ex-striker and manager is incredibly keen on the move, but faces competition from Michael Carrick over the interim role.
