Yorke warns Kane not to make Barcelona move: I think he'll find it more difficult!
Former Manchester United striker Dwight Yorke has warned Bayern Munich star not to make the move to Barcelona.
Kane, who has scored 115 times in 120 games for the German giants since his blockbuster transfer from Tottenham in 2023, has excelled in the Bundesliga under manager Vincent Kompany.
Bayern are reportedly ready to offer Kane a new contract in the coming months, extending his deal until either 2028 or 2029. Kompany is keen on keeping the England captain at the club, but rumours have grown in recent weeks.
Kane has been linked with Barcelona, who are set to lose Robert Lewandowski at the end of his current deal which ends in the summer.
The La giants see Kane as the perfect replacement but, speaking to Footitalia, Yorke has suggested that he would struggle in the Spanish first division despite his qualities.
“Harry Kane to Barcelona? I’m not sure because he is very comfortable,” Yorke stated. “He is 32 now, and he'll find it more difficult, I think. I would think that he will find it much more difficult because of the tempo of the game and that kind of stuff.”
“I still think he would do well, but he won't do as well as he's doing at Bayern Munich,” Yorke added. “I would be very wary of that if I was his advisor or one of the people around him.”
Kane is very much in contention to win his second European Golden Boot in three years and is unlikely to leave a Bayern side who are on course to win the Bundesliga once again. Leaving would mean a fresh start for Kane, which, for the veteran, seems unlikely.
