Juventus ready to make January move for Chiesa as he prepares for Liverpool exit
Juventus are reportedly determined to sign Liverpool's Federico Chiesa on loan in the January transfer window.
Chiesa joined Liverpool in the summer of 2024 from Juventus after the Italian side were unwilling to offer him a big long-term deal on high wages after his ACL injury.
Despite him leaving the club, Chiesa has emerged as one of several potential January signings for Juventus, who are keen to bolster their attack over the next month, as reported by the Liverpool Echo.
The Italian winger has started only seven of his 32 appearances for the club over the past 18 months due to various injuries, whilst often being overlooked by manager Arne Slot.
Reports state that Chiesa’s possible return would be on loan with an option to buy would offer the 28-year-old a chance to regain consistent playing time ahead of the World Cup where he desires to represent Italy.
Chiesa started at right-wing in Saturday's league fixture against Wolves at Anfield as he filled in the gap left by Mohamed Salah who is representing Egypt at the Africa Cup of Nations.
This was only his second start in the English top-flight under Slot in a statistic that sums up his game time at the club so far which will only push him out of the side as the January window approaches.
Chiea’s national side, Italy, are yet to qualify for next year's tournament. To qualify for the World Cup, Italy will need to beat Northern Ireland at home before winning away in either Wales or Bosnia and Herzegovina.
