Man City's talks with Semenyo in their "final stages" as January deal looks certain

Manchester City are closing in on the signing of Bournemouth's Antoine Semenyo in what looks to be a done deal.

Semenyo’s current contract at Bournemouth includes a 365M release clause that only remains active in the early days of the January transfer window.

Several Premier League clubs have been linked with the winger, who has bagged nine goals in 17 Bournemouth appearances this season under manager Andoni Iraola.

His personal terms are understood to now be in place, and now journalist Florian Plettenburg has reported that talks are in their last stages as a deal prepares to be announced.

“Talks have progressed quickly over the past 24 hours and are now in the final stages.

“The last details of his 365m release clause are being sorted between the clubs. Verbal agreement with the player 100 % done, as reported. #MCFC

“However, the release clause does not become active until Thursday, and Semenyo is still in the Bournemouth squad for their match at Chelsea tonight.”

Despite the deal due to go over the line, reports indicate that Semenyo will feature in Bournemouth’s clash with Chelsea on Tuesday night.

The forward is said to want a deal completed at the start of the month, and that is looking ever more likely as the January window approaches in what could be the quickest deal of the month.
