Premier League Icon's Wife Shares Past Romance with Hollywood Star as Family Celebrates First Brazilian Christmas

A UEFA Champions League winner is set to enjoy his first festive season back in his homeland, surrounded by family. Italian-Brazilian midfielder Jorginho, formerly of Chelsea and Arsenal, completed a move to Rio de Janeiro's Flamengo this past summer after a successful European career that saw him lift the Champions League, Europa League, and the European Championship with Italy.

Now 34, the footballer is looking forward to the holidays with his wife, singer and stylist Catherine Harding. The couple, who began their relationship in 2020 following Jorginho's separation from his first wife, Natalia Leteri, have built a blended family.

Catherine, who performed under the name Cat Cavelli on the UK's The Voice in 2020, had a chapter in her life before meeting Jorginho that connects her to Hollywood. In 2014, while working in the Czech Republic, she met acclaimed British actor Jude Law. Their brief romance resulted in the birth of their daughter, Ada, now 10 years old.

Reflecting on that time, Catherine has previously shared, "We met at a bar in Soho and hit it off. I didn't plan to have a baby. It just happened. It's so exciting being a mum." She has described Law as a "great dad," and Jorginho has warmly embraced a fatherly role in Ada's life. In Amazon Prime's documentary Married To The Game, Ada was heard affectionately referring to Jorginho as "dad."

Jorginho and Catherine welcomed their own son, Jax, in 2021. The family, frequently featured on Catherine's Instagram where she has nearly 123,000 followers, appears close-knit. A self-described "north London girl from Holloway," Catherine has built a career as a personal stylist and runs her own business, Cat Cavelli Curates.

Her life in football, however, came with a learning curve. During the documentary filming, she humorously admitted, "I don't watch football other than when he is playing. I don't know the rules. I don't know the offside rule. I don't know anything... he tries to explain it to me. I honestly just learned there are 11 players."

The couple formalized their relationship in a luxurious ceremony on the shores of Italy's Lake Como in June of this year, and now prepare to celebrate Christmas together in Brazil.
