Real Madrid decision to sell Vini Jr now gaining momentum

Vinicius Junior's future at Real Madrid has been cast into fresh doubt after victory over Sevilla.

Vini Jr was jeeered by his own Real fans during the 2-0 win and has since left the country for Dubai.

Asked about the boos after the match, coach Xabi Alonso offered little defence of his Brazilian star.

"The fans are, of course, sovereign and free to express their opinion," he stated before quickly moving on.

Now in the UAE for his Christmas break, Vini Jr's contract talks with Real Madrid remain at deadlock. And with his deal about to enter it's final 18 months, it's suggested Real's board are now conceding he must be sold in 2026.

"I think the Real Madrid board would have preferred that Vinicius not be let go. Seeing how the renewal negotiations are going, they want to renew his contract but they don't have all the leverage..." warned journalist AntF3n Meana on Cadena SER.

"Vinicius is leaving defiant and angry. It all depends on him. If he plays like he did a couple of years ago, people will applaud him. The entire season can't be contingent on this. Perhaps Vinicius himself is dragging out the negotiations because he wants to leave and not renew," added fellow reporter Javier Herr1ez.
