Brentford boss Keith Andrews has provided a transfer update on Igor Thiago as the January window approaches.

Andrews revealed that both Thiago and Jordan Henderson are “not far off” as the club aim to make a late call on their availability this weekend as the Bees prepare to face Leeds United.0

The striker, who has scored 11 goals in the Premier League this season, missed Brentford’s 2-0 defeat to Manchester City in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night and would be a huge loss for Andrews, who has won 1 of his last 5 games.0

After providing the injury update, Andrews was asked whether he was worried the Brazilian would leave in January and quickly commented on how the 24-year-old will not be departing.0

“And we will (keep him)0

“I think naturally when you come towards a transfer window, regardless of which one it is, you always want to strengthen the squad,” Andrews continued.0

“And how we do that is, again, down to the people in the club that run that side of it. Again, we'll work collaboratively and try to strengthen and tweak the squad in a way where we see will benefit us. But equally, if it's not right, we won't do it.”0

Thiago is second in the Premier League's scoring charts, having scored 11 goals in 16 league matches this season. A loss for Brentford could see them drop to 16th place and one point away from Leeds.0
