‘I don’t want to leave’ – Arsenal star pleads with Arteta over future

Arsenal forward Gabriel Jesus has pleaded with manager Mikel Arteta to keep him at the club amid rumours surrounding his future.

The 28-year-old recently returned to the Arsenal squad after 11 months out of action due to an ACL injury picked up in their 1-1 FA Cup draw with Man United last season

Jesus has been heavily linked with a return to boyhood club Palmeiras in the past, but it would appear he doesn’t want to leave the North London club just yet.

“I feel that I have unfinished business at Arsenal. I don’t want to leave,” Jesus said, addressing the rumours in an interview with The Players' Tribune.

“People have asked, ‘Why don’t you just leave? Why don’t you go to Saudi? Or back home to Brazil?’ One day, I would love for everything to come full circle with Palmeiras, but not today.”
