Barcelona director talks up Alvarez move as Lewandowski replacement

Barcelona advisor Enric Masip admits he'd like to see Julian Alavrez signed.

The Atletico Madrid star is being linked with Barca as a potential replacement for Robert Lewandowski. The Pole's contract is running down and talks have been held with Chicago Fire.

As such, Barca are considering replacements for the veteran centre-forward, which include Alvarez.

Masip, who acts as an advisor to Barca president Joan Laporta, told Solo para Culers: "I would say yes, he's a good replacement for Lewandowski.

"He's a fantastic player, a player with incredible quality, and he's having a great season at Atl9tico. Bar7a could handle that situation if it arose; I have no doubt that it would."
