Thiago Silva ends his second spell at Flu
Fluminense announced on Wednesday (17) that defender Thiago Silva has requested to terminate his contract with the club.
Thiago Silva had returned to Fluminense, the club where he began his career, in mid-2024, starting his second spell after playing for Milan, PSG, and Chelsea. During his time with the Tricolor, he won the 2007 Copa do Brasil, making 212 appearances and scoring 19 goals.

The player is now a free agent and can sign with another club at no cost. Thiago Silva played in four World Cups for Brazil (2010, 2014, 2018, and 2022), serving as captain for the national team in some of those tournaments.
Behind-the-scenes reports suggest that Thiago Silva is interested in returning to European football, mainly for family reasons. His family lives in London, with his two sons playing in Chelsea's youth academy, making the club a possible destination for the defender.
