Cristina Serra, the wife of Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, has reportedly relocated from the family home following tensions surrounding Guardiola's renewed commitment to the club.
According to Spanish media, the couple's relationship has faced difficulties over the past year and a half, with Serra said to have been living separately for some time. The Spanish podcast Mamarazzis recently highlighted that Guardiola and Serra have not seen each other in weeks.
Serra—who married Guardiola in 2014—returned to Barcelona in 2019 to focus on her fashion business, Serra Claret. Since then, she has frequently traveled between Spain and England to spend time with her husband as he led Manchester City to continued success.
Reports from September 2024 indicated that Serra did not return to England after an apparent promise to relocate to the United Arab Emirates was not fulfilled. Guardiola's subsequent contract extension with Manchester City, tying him to the club until 2027, appears to have further strained the relationship.
Despite the separation, sources suggest both parties are leaving open the possibility of reconciliation in the future. During an appearance on the Spanish program Y Ahora Sonsoles, Lorena Vazquez of Mamarazzis shared new details, revealing that Serra has moved from the family residence in Pedralbes to an apartment in Barcelona's Eixample district.
Vazquez described the new home as "modest compared to what she could afford," adding that the couple's relationship may continue on friendly terms. "Relationships sometimes continue as friendships," she remarked, implying an amicable—though no longer romantic—partnership.
Earlier reports in 2025 suggested that a return to Barcelona for Guardiola, and a step back from his role at Manchester City, could potentially restore the relationship.
In conversation with journalist Laura Fa, Vazquez noted, "They're leaving the door open to reconciliation. It's possible that once Pep retires from football and comes back to Barcelona, they could resume their relationship. This is a friendly, thoughtful separation—without drama, conflict, or any third parties involved."
While no official separation documents have been confirmed, it appears a reunion is unlikely unless Guardiola ends his tenure in the Premier League for good. The couple had been together for nearly three decades prior to this reported split.
