Brazilian federation in talks with Carlo Ancelotti over new long-term deal

Carlo Ancelotti is the CBF's preferred choice through to 2030

The Brazilian Football Federation (CBF) has reportedly already started talks with national team coach Carlo Ancelotti over a new contract. The parties have been in discussions for a few weeks, and the expectation is that the new deal will be signed at the beginning of 2026.

According to ge, the plan is for the Italian to stay on until the 2030 World Cup, completing a full cycle in charge of the Selecao. The CBF leadership views the start of Ancelotti's tenure very positively, believing he has quickly put the Brazilian national team back on track.

On Ancelotti's side, the feeling is also very positive after a few months living in Brazil. Pleased with the national team setup, which allows him to balance his time between family - split between Canada and Rio de Janeiro - the 66-year-old coach has made it clear he wants to continue in the role.

Currently the highest-paid national team coach in the world, Ancelotti earns around 10 million euros per year. His current deal also includes a bonus of five million euros if Brazil wins a long-awaited sixth World Cup in 2026.

Carlo Ancelotti has already managed Brazil in eight matches, with a record of four wins, two draws, and two losses.

At the 2026 World Cup, he will lead the Selecao in Group C, alongside0Morocco, Haiti, and Scotland. Before that, in March, Brazil will play friendlies against France and Croatia.
