Loftus-Cheek pushing for AC Milan exit to boost World Cup chances

AC Milan midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek is reportedly considering a move away from the club in order to boost his chances of making England's World Cup squad.

The 29-year-old was a shock inclusion for Thomas Tuchel’s England squad back in October, coming off the bench for the final 20 minutes of their 3-0 win over Wales.

That was the first time Loftus-Cheek featured for his country since 2019 following a severe Achilles injury while still at Chelsea.

According to reports from Calciomercato.com, the midfielder is hoping to secure a move away in order to boost his chances of making the England squad next summer.

Loftus-Cheek has had limited opportunities under Max Allegri, starting just four of his 12 Serie A games so far this season.

There have been reports that Napoli could make a move due to their ongoing midfielder injury crisis, while Maurizio Sarri's Lazio are also interested.
