Man City to recall Echeverri from Bayer Leverkusen

Manchester City are set to cut short the loan of Claudio Echeverri at Bayer Leverkusen.

The Argentine midfielder, who made his City debut in last season's FA Cup final, has struggled to make an impact at Bayer this term.

The situation has left City management unhappy and Kicker says they're ready to recall Echeverri in January and send him elsewhere on-loan for the remainder of the season.

City now can bring the youngster back without needing to speak with Leverkusen thanks to a buy-back clause that is activated if Echeverri doesn't reach a minimum number of appearances.

That target is now mathematically unattainable.
