Ex-Flamengo coach Renato backing AC Milan move for Souza

Former Flamengo coach Renato Portaluppi can understand why AC Milan are interested in Corinthians goalkeeper Hugo Souza.

Renato was Fla coach when Souza was breaking through before his move to Corinthians last year.

AC Milan see the shot-stopper as a potential replacement for Mike Maignan and could make a €12m move for Souza in January.

Renato, a former Roma striker, told TMW: "He's a great goalkeeper. He's very skilled with the ball at his feet and he's very tall, which makes him a strong goalkeeper. Over the years, he's also gained a lot of confidence, and I'm sure that.
