"We're getting punished" - Edwards admits Wolves confidence crisis at Man United defeat

Rob Edwards said Wolves “shot themselves in the foot” as defensive errors and a lack of confidence saw Man United capitalise, in their 4-1 defeat on Monday (December 8).

Wolves are still on the hunt for their first Premier League win over the season after they were dismantled by Man United at Molineux.

Bruno Fernandes was the Player of the Match, scoring twice and providing the assist for Mason Mount’s goal to make it 3-1.

Speaking after the game, Wolves manager Edwards admitted that the side were the architects of their own downfall in the defeat to United.

"We got ourselves back in the game but the goals we conceded we'll never get anything from a game,” he told BBC Sport.0

“We gave the ball to them, 'there you go Man Utd'. It's impossible to win a game of football that way.

"It's understandable at times, there's a nervousness around, a lack of confidence and rhythm. They're human beings, they feel it.

"For the third goal we won the ball three or four times and insist on giving it back to them.

"It's difficult especially at this level. We're getting punished.

"We have to try to work very hard, try to learn and try to improve."
