Liverpool told they should sign Guehi in January
Former Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp wants the Reds to sign England and Crystal Palace's star defender Marc Guehi in the summer transfer window. Speaking on the club's transfer strategy for the upcoming transfer window after a sloppy start to the new season, Redknapp told Sky Sports: "Right now it would probably do Konate a favour just to take him out of the firing line a little bit. But they haven’t really got those options because they’ve got to manage Conor Bradley’s minutes, Joe Gomez has had so many injuries, so you’ve got to be really careful there with his knee.
"The ideal one, I think, would be to get Guehi in in January. I think he’s out of contract in the summer, so I’m sure Crystal Palace will be looking that that’s the only way to get money out of that situation. He would be a perfect fit for Liverpool. That’s exactly what they need to play alongside Virgil (van Dijk). As much as I think the (Mohamed) Salah situation will dominate, I think they need to get another centre-back in."
Is Salah leaving Liverpool? Reds star's explosive comments on Slot
Mohammed Salah did not hold back after being left out on the bench yet again as Liverpool were held to a 3-3 draw by Leeds in the Premier League on Saturday.
After the match, Salah revealed that he intends to say farewell to the club’s fanbase during next Saturday’s home game against Brighton, with the 33-year-old unsure if he has a future at the club. In quotes carried by The Times, he said: “I can’t believe it, I’m very, very disappointed. I have done so much for this club down the years and especially last season. Now I’m sitting on the bench and I don’t know why. It seems like the club has thrown me under the bus. That is how I am feeling. I think it is very clear that someone wanted me to get all of the blame. I got a lot of promises in the summer and so far I am in the bench for three games, so I can’t say they keep the promise. I said many times before that I had a good relationship with the manager and all of a sudden, we don’t have any relationship. I don’t know why, but it seems to me, how I see it, that someone doesn’t want me in the club. This club, I always support it. My kids will always support it. I love the club so much, I will always do. I called my mum yesterday — you guys didn’t know if I would start or not, but I knew. Yesterday I said to [my parents], ‘Come to the Brighton game.’ I don’t know if I am going to play or not but I am going to enjoy it. In my head, I’m going to enjoy that game because I don’t know what is going to happen now. I will be at Anfield to say goodbye to the fans and go the Africa cup. I don’t know what is going to happen when I am there."
Arteta tipped to leave Arsenal for European giants
Mikel Arteta could finally fulfil his dream of winning the Premier League in the 2025-26 campaign as Arsenal are currently placed at the top of the Premier League table.
Despite the Spaniard's success with the Gunners, former Arsenal star Emmanuel Petit has backed Arteta to join Barcelona next season. He told Mundo Deportivo: "He could be tempted to return to Spain, especially to a club he played for when he was very young. Honestly, with the work he’s doing, can you imagine if he wins something at the end of the season? I’d probably say, ‘okay, that’s okay. In my case, after almost seven years, I have achieved it with Arsenal. I think it’s time to look for something else’. I would understand. Well, look, Barcelona is one of the best clubs in the world. ‘I will return to Spain and the lifestyle is good for my family’. I would say, ‘okay, I’m going to Barcelona, but we have to change something, especially in defence’. It’s very simple: you will probably fight for the title in Spain, but in no way will you fight for the Champions League."
Man Utd eye move for Premier League duo in January
According to Football Insider's Mick Brown, Manchester United are interested in signing Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliott Anderson and Bournemouth's attacking sensation Antoine Semenyo in January.
Brown wrote: "Semenyo is the one they’ve been looking at. United need to spend in January to improve the squad, and he’s somebody they wanted to bring in during the summer before he signed that contract. If the opportunity comes up when the window opens, it would make a lot of sense because he would also be able to plug that hole left by Mbeumo. You’re looking at people like Semenyo and Elliot Anderson to come in, they’re the top targets for Amorim because both of them would be real improvements in key areas of the squad. They’d plug gaps where there might otherwise be problems, add energy and drive to the team, and help United take steps towards being successful again. They would need to spend something like £170million on those two players to turn them into a team who can compete for silverware and at the top level. Personally, I can’t see that happening, but they are interested in signing both of them and if it can be done in January, then perhaps they will. There will be other teams interested too, so it wouldn’t be easy by any stretch of the imagination, but I think they’re both players they need."
Will Vini Jr stay at Real Madrid?
Real Madrid boss Xabi Alonso provided an update on Vinicius Junior's situation at the club amid speculations that the Brazilian winger could leave Santiago Bernabeu.
The Spanish coach said: "Vinicius is in a great place both personally and professionally, he seems happy! It was a shame he didn't score in Greece or Bilbao, but when you see him smile, it gives the team a real boost. It's crucial to have him in this state of mind."
Jesus steps up recovery with action against Man Utd
Gabriel Jesus has taken another significant stride toward ending his lengthy spell on the sidelines, with the striker set to feature in a friendly against Manchester United with the Arsenal Under-21s on Saturday as part of his carefully managed rehabilitation programme.
Bayern & Newcastle want Mainoo
Bayern Munich, Napoli and Newcastle United have emerged as leading contenders to pursue Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo, according to talkSPORT. The 20-year-old England international is reportedly open to walking away from Old Trafford after growing frustrated with his lack of involvement this season.
Mainoo is yet to make a Premier League start under manager Ruben Amorim, leaving him unconvinced that he features in the club’s long-term plans. That uncertainty has prompted him to explore opportunities elsewhere as early as the January window.
Guardiola says Rodri is 'suffering' after latest injury blow
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola says star midfielder Rodri is "suffering" due to a troublesome hamstring injury. The 2024 Ballon d'Or winner picked up the issue in early October, just months on from returning from a long-term knee problem. And while the Spain international is "getting better", he is "struggling" with this newer setback.
Barcelona assess options for elite striker signing
Barcelona have made the recruitment of a leading centre-forward one of their major objectives for the upcoming summer window. According to journalist Rudy Galetti, the Catalan side are evaluating potential moves for Inter Milan star Lautaro Martínez and Bayern Munich talisman Harry Kane as they search for a long-term focal point in attack.
However, Marca reports that Atlético Madrid forward Julian Alvarez has been removed from consideration. Although club president Joan Laporta once viewed the 25-year-old as an ideal acquisition, his display during Barça’s 3–1 victory over Atleti reportedly fell below expectations. In addition, Barcelona believe the Argentina international’s asking price is excessively high, ending any realistic pursuit.
Leeds face financial hurdle in pursuit of Sara
Leeds United continue to be linked with Galatasaray midfielder Gabriel Sara, a player the club have admired for an extended period and even attempted to recruit previously. According to Football Insider, the Turkish giants would only consider parting with the 26-year-old if a bid of around £17.5 million arrived in January. Journalist Pete O’Rourke suggested that several sides would monitor the Brazilian if he became available, but questioned whether Leeds could meet the valuation given their current limitations.
Pete O’Rourke said: "If Gabriel Sara was to become available in January, there are a number of clubs who will be looking at him because he’s a talented player. But if Galatasaray were willing to let him go, they’d be demanding around £17.5million, and I’m not sure Leeds would be willing to meet those demands."
Pochettino wants EPL comeback
USMNT boss Mauricio Pochettino has admitted to harbouring a desire to make a Premier League return after coming "so close" to winning the title with Tottenham. The Argentine has confessed that he still feels the pull of the English top flight, even as he prepares to lead the United States men’s national team at the 2026 World Cup on home soil.
Ghana boss urges Semenyo to leave Bournemouth amid transfer links
Ghana boss Otto Addo has urged Antoine Semenyo to take the "next step" and leave Bournemouth amid links with Liverpool and Manchester City. The 25-year-old has a £65 million ($87m) release clause, which is only active until a specific date in the January transfer window. As teams consider a move for him, his national manager thinks it is "natural" for the flying winger to secure a transfer away.
Milan seal deal for Colombian starlet Arizala
AC Milan have finalised an agreement to bring in Juan Arizala, the highly rated 20-year-old full-back from Deportivo Independiente Medellín, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Rossoneri are set to pay €3 million, with an additional future sell-on clause included as part of the arrangement. Arizala reportedly rejected approaches from clubs in England and Belgium, opting instead for the opportunity to develop in Serie A. Arizala has already established himself on the international stage, collecting 22 caps for Colombia’s U20 side since making his debut early in 2025. He featured prominently at the U20 World Cup, helping his nation secure a third-place finish.

Chelsea and Arsenal go head-to-head for Ligue 1 ace amid PSG interest
Chelsea and Arsenal have reportedly intensified their pursuit of Lille sensation Ayyoub Bouaddi, with both Premier League giants pushing to position themselves ahead of Paris Saint-Germain in the race for one of Europe’s brightest youngsters. Lille are determined to extend the teenager’s contract and protect a fee that could soar past €50 million (£43.6m/$58.2m) next summer.
As per Fabrice Hawkins, Chelsea and Arsenal have emerged as leading contenders in the growing race to sign Lille midfielder Bouaddi, whose reputation has soared after breaking through as one of Ligue 1’s most exciting young talents. The report has indicated that Arsenal are pushing aggressively, while Chelsea have stepped up their monitoring as they explore reinforcements in midfield ahead of next summer. Lille are aware of the competition and anticipate bids surpassing €50 million, with some earlier valuations even suggesting the figure could rise closer to €100 million. Paris Saint-Germain, who have long tracked Bouaddi, remain linked, though sources close to the player insist that no talks with the Paris club are currently taking place.
