Real Madrid coach Xabi makes contact with Juventus ace Yildiz

Real Madrid coach Xabi Alonso is eager to make a move for Juventus midfielder Kenan Yildiz.

The Turkey international is highly regarded by Xabi, who sees him as a potential successor for Luka Modric, after the Croatian veteran's departure for AC Milan this past summer.

La Gazzetta dello Sport says Xabi has texted Yildiz, 20, to express his interest in signing him.

The Yildiz family, who are heavily involved in the contract negotiations with Juve, welcomed the approach. This contrasts sharply with the Old Lady's offer, which is rumored to be a net annual salary of €5m and is said to be far from satisfactory for Yildiz.
