Chelsea leading the race for in demand RB Leipzig defender Castello Lukeba

Chelsea are reportedly ahead of several other Premier League sides in the race to sign RB Leipzig defender Castello Lukeba.

The 22-year-old is a wanted man, with Man United, Liverpool, and Newcastle all understood to be interested in his services.

According to CaughtOffside, however, Chelsea are ahead of the rest in the race to sign the French centre back.

Lukeba is understood to have a €90 million release clause with the Bundesliga club, but they could be willing to sell for as little as €60 million in January.

Whatever happens in the winter transfer window, Lukeba is expected to leave the club in the summer, when his release clause drops to €80 million.
