Chelsea bound Emegha breaks silence on Strasbourg suspension controversy
Chelsea bound striker Emanuel Emegha has broken his silence after he received a one game suspension from Strasbourg for some controversial comments.
The 22-year-old, who is set to join Chelsea from BlueCo sister club Strasbourg in 2026, was handed a one-game suspension by the French club for "failure to respect the club's values, expectations and rules".
According to L’9quipe (via GFFN), the Dutch international was sanctioned over an interview in which he admitted he initially thought Strasbourg was in Germany before signing for the club, and for suggesting that the team’s poor results were due to his absence through injury.
Emegha has since taken to Instagram to apologise for his actions, saying: “I’m 22, I’ve made mistakes and I know that I have much to learn.
"And I must learn from this. I know that I must do better, and I will, on and off the pitch to represent the club.
"He (Marc Keller) knows how much I love this club and how much I work every day. I also extend my thanks to my teammates, the staff, head coach Liam Rosenior and Sporting Director David Weir and everyone associated with the team. On Saturday, I will 200% back the team like a supporter.”
