Napoli learn Marseille asking price for Greenwood

Napoli are preparing a new move for Olympique Marseille forward Mason Greenwood.

The former Manchester United prospect is proving one of the best performers in Ligue Une.

The Athletic says Napoli are preparing a bid for Greenwood, having failed with an attempt a year ago when he left United for OM.

OM now rate Greenwood in the €60m class, almost twice the €32m they paid 18 months ago.

However, Marseille coach Roberto de Zerbi is likely to fight to keep hold of Greenwood given his impact. The Italian recently said of the forward: "He has the qualities to become one of the best players in the world.

"He's incredibly talented, but he still needs to be even more useful for the team.

"I want to protect him because I don't like seeing him criticised – he's scored a lot of goals, he's never missed training, and he still has room to grow."
