Transfer news & rumours LIVE: Premier League suitors learn value of Semenyo release clause

Sunderland emerge as leading suitor for Santiago Gimenez

Santiago Gimenez’s future at AC Milan has become increasingly uncertain, even though his contract runs through 2029. Local reports suggest the Mexican striker may be nearing the end of his spell at San Siro, drawing interest from several clubs across Europe - including a surprising contender in the Premier League with Sunderland.

Among the teams monitoring his situation, Sunderland have surfaced as one of the most serious candidates, according to Calciomercato.com. The Premier League club has started the season in unexpected form, sitting fourth in the table with 19 points, ahead of giants such as Tottenham, Manchester City, and Liverpool. Their rise - and need for added depth in attack - has put Giménez firmly on their radar.

Premier League suitors learn value of Semenyo release clause

It has been reported how much Premier League suitors have to pay to trigger Antoine Semenyo's release clause ahead of the January transfer window. Semenyo is a wanted man by a number of the division's big hitters, with the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United among those keen on the Bournemouth star. The Ghanaian was linked with a recent summer move away from the south coast but penned a five-year deal with the Cherries.

Prior to Semenyo's decision to sign a new deal at the Vitality Stadium, Bournemouth had set a £70 million ($92m)  asking price on the forward in a bid to ward off interest. However, in penning a five-year contract with Bournemouth, The Athletic writes that Semenyo now has a release clause of £65m ($86m).

Liverpool ready to spend big in January to halt Arsenal title push

Liverpool are prepared to splash the cash on two Premier League stars in January in a bid to derail Arsenal's title charge. Defeat at Manchester City last weekend means the Reds sit eight points behind the Gunners after the opening 11 matches of the season. However, the club seem willing to back Arne Slot in the New Year as they look to make up the gap on Mikel Arteta's men.

Man Utd plotting swoop for Dutch wonderkid to solve midfield problems

Manchester United are monitoring AZ Alkmaar sensation Kees Smit as they look to finally address their long-standing midfield issues, but face rival interest from within the Premier League. The 19-year-old Dutch international is attracting interest from multiple elite clubs, with AZ prepared to demand around £25 million for their prized academy graduate.

Manchester United have identified Smit as a potential solution to their midfield rebuild, as per CentreDevils, with sources confirming that scouts have been closely monitoring the AZ Alkmaar starlet's development this season. Director of Recruitment Christopher Vivell has already discussed the teenager internally, signalling that United consider him one of the most promising young midfield profiles available on the market. His age, tactical intelligence and technical quality make him an attractive long-term investment for a club beginning to reshape its spine.

PSG eye Alvarez swoop with Atletico star open to Ligue 1 move

Paris Saint-Germain have reignited their pursuit for Atletico Madrid start forward, Julian Alvarez. With Luis Enrique pushing for a dynamic No. 9 and Alvarez open to a Ligue 1 switch, PSG believe he is the missing piece in their evolution. But Atletico’s massive €120m valuation threatens to turn the chase.

As reported by Sacha Tavolieri, Luis Enrique remains an enormous admirer of Alvarez’s all-round ability, his pressing intensity, positional intelligence, and capacity to operate both as a central striker and a roaming second forward. PSG want a new long-term No. 9, and Alvarez fits the profile exactly. Crucially, the Argentine is open to the move and is not considering a Premier League return despite interest from England.

Konate slams transfer talk for putting him a 'tight spot'

Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate admits that transfer speculation has left him in a “tight spot”, with questions continuing to be asked of how long he will remain at Anfield.

Speaking to TF1 while on 2026 World Cup qualifying duty with France, Konate said when asked about his regular presence in gossip columns: "It’s difficult, we can’t say everything because a lot of things are already being said in the media."

He added: "Some of the things that I read, I’m like… oh la la. That puts me in a tight spot with Liverpool fans, and they don’t even know all the ins and outs. My agents continue to discuss with Liverpool. I hope my decision will be made very soon so I can announce it."

Man Utd outcast Zirkzee picks ideal next club

Manchester United striker Joshua Zirkzee has made it clear that he wants to leave the club. He has a few suitors in Europe and the Netherlands forward has already decided on which club he wants to join.

According to Sport Witness (via Corriere dello Sport), Zirkzee wants to join Gian Piero Gasperini's side. The Gialorossi are his preference due to a few factors. Firstly, they are keen on providing him a starting spot. Secondly, Zirkzee is eager to work under Gasperini, who holds the reputation of bringing out the best from young strikers. With the World Cup in less than a year, Zirkzee wants to reclaim lost ground and earn a place in Ronald Koeman's squad for the competition.

Napoli eye winter move for Feynoord's midfield star

According to CalcioNapoli24, Napoli’s interest in Quinten Timber comes at a moment of necessity and opportunity. The injuries to Kevin De Bruyne and Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa have left glaring gaps in Antonio Conte’s midfield which he has centred around power, transitions and constant vertical threat. Conte’s teams are at their best when the midfield can win duels, initiate forward bursts, and maintain tactical discipline, and Timber fits that profile with remarkable precision.

West Ham advised to sign Real Madrid star Endrick

Former West Ham United player Don Hutchison has urged the Hammers to sign Real Madrid outcast Endrick in January.

He told Sportscasting: "Yeah, I think it would be a good move for West Ham to get Endrick if it’s possible. He's a strong boy. You look at the physicality. He’s stocky and he's strong. He needs to be given time, which is hard in the Premier League. He might be better off going to Sociedad like Isak or Odegaard did. Sometimes it pays to stay in La Liga, but you go and play every single week, building your strength, lungs and legs up. You get your confidence, goals and your mentality and bring it up that way.

Fullkrug set to leave West Ham

Per Fabrizio Romano, German forward Niclas Fullkrug's journey with West Ham will end in a couple of months as he is all set to leave the Hammers in the January transfer window. His agents have started to discuss a potential move back to his homeland as the Premier League outfit are ready to sell the forward.

Revealed: Sandro Tonali to return to Milan?

Newcastle United's midfield general, Sandro Tonali, might return to his former club, AC Milan, in the future. The potential comeback was hinted at by the player and pundits alike before Italy's World Cup qualifier against Norway, which was played at the San Siro, the home of Milan and Inter.

After defeating Moldova, Tonali said about returning to San Siro, where he spent three seasons: "Exciting. The last time I was there was almost three years ago. Every time I return there in my career, I will be excited. I can’t say I experience it like the first time, but it will always be like returning for the second time."

Liverpool to move for Smit

Liverpool are "seriously considering" trying to sign Netherlands sensation Kees Smit. According to Soccer News, the Reds have been monitoring the AZ star for several months and are hoping to beat La Liga giants Real Madrid and Barcelona to his signature.
