Ancelotti Apologises to Arsenal as Gabriel Faces Nervous Wait Over Injury

Brazil manager Carlo Ancelotti has apologised to Arsenal after centre-back Gabriel went off injured in their 2-0 friendly win over Senegal on Saturday (November 15).

Gabriel, 27, was visibly furious when he went off injured in the 64th minute with what appeared to be a groin injury.

The defender has been a key part of Arsenal’s incredible start to the season, and now Mikel Arteta will be anxiously awaiting any update.

When asked about Gabriel’s injury, Ancelotti said: “Bad? I don't know, he had a problem on his adductor the medical staff have to check tomorrow.0

“We are really sorry for this, really disappointed, when players have an injury, I hope they can recover well and soon.”

Arsenal may also be without left-back Riccardo Calafiori for the North London Derby in their first game back from the international break after he left the Italy camp.
