Upamecano Vows to Make ‘Right Decision’ as Liverpool and Real Madrid Circle for Free Transfer

Bayern Munich defender Dayot Upamecano has promised to make the “right decision” over his future, with both Liverpool and Real Madrid monitoring his situation ahead of a potential free transfer.

The 27-year-old’s current contract with Bayern Munich is set to expire at the end of the season, although the club are in talks over a new deal.

Premier League champions Liverpool and Spanish giants Real Madrid are both said to be interested in signing Upamecano as a free agent.

Upamecano will be free to negotiate a ‘pre-agreement’ with foreign sides from January 1st if he doesn’t sign a new deal before then.

Speaking to L’Equipe, Upamecano addressed the situation, saying: “My agent is taking care of it. We will make the right decision. I am receiving good advice.0

“I am focused on this season and my goals with the club and the national team. I don't have the headspace for it.”
