Bayern Munich considered Silva before Borussia Dortmund swoop

Bayern Munich considered a move for Fabio Silva this summer before Wolves sold him to Borussia Dortmund.

The Bild podcast 'Bayern Insider' is reporting the Munich club weighed up moving for the Portugal U21 striker.

However, a serious offer never materialised. Instead, Silva moved from Wolves to Borussia Dortmund for €22.5m shortly before the transfer deadline.

The 23-year-old is only slowly returning to form after an injury. Coach Niko Kovac has so far only brought the right-footed player on in the final stages of matches; only against FC Copenhagen (4-2) was he given half an hour.

Silva promptly repaid the faith shown in him with a goal against the Danes.
