Germany Boss Julian Nagelsmann Slams Liverpool Over Florian Wirtz Issue

Germany boss Julian Nagelsmann has weighed in on Florian Wirtz poor start to life at Liverpool.

Liverpool splashed 3116 million to sign the highly rated 22-year-old from boyhood club Bayer Leverkusen this summer.

Wirtz is struggling to live up to the price tag and is yet to bag a single goal contribution in the Premier League, although he has provided three assists in cup competitions.

Despite his poor form, Wirtz was still called up to Nagelsmann’s Germany squad for their World Cup qualifiers against Luxembourg and Slovakia this month.

Speaking to the press, the Germany manager said: "To be honest, the whole situation does not make it easy for him either.

"The whole club itself (Liverpool) is not as stable this year as it was last year. It's much harder to slip into the team now.

"If you look vs City, they were the worse team over the 90 minutes. So it is also difficult for Flo to make any real big impact.

"Ultimately, the overall situation is such that he just needs a little more time - which is normal and you see that with other players, who move to the English Premier League as well."
