Transfer news & rumours LIVE: Wharton responds to Manchester United transfer links as Crystal Palace make their move

Wharton responds to Manchester United transfer links

Crystal Palace's Adam Wharton has candidly addressed the speculation linking him with Manchester United ahead of the January transfer window. Speaking to The Athletic, Wharton said: "I don't really look into it or think too much about it. There are always rumours floating about on social media. Is it true? Is it not? You tell me. My friends, my family, my brothers, everyone will message me and be like, 'Is it true this club's interested?' I'm like, 'Thanks for telling me because I didn't know.'

I don't know who's spreading it or who at United is looking at it. I see it and I'm like, 'OK', and then I carry on with my day. United, the big teams, they're all linked to 10, 20 different players. If I'm one of 20, then it's nothing special, so it doesn't really mean too much. I speak with my agent about planning ahead and possibilities.

"But at the end of the day, it is who's interested and who's willing to try and get you and if that becomes the case? You can speak about it, but you've got to represent that on the pitch and prove that you deserve it."

Liverpool eyeing Minteh as Salah replacement

Liverpool have added Yankuba Minteh to their list of potential Mohamed Salah replacements, with a January move unlikely.

According to Football Insider, Minteh is the latest Salah replacement option that Liverpool might consider. The Brighton star has been a top performer for the club since moving in 2024, as the Merseysiders are keen to bring him to Anfield, although a January move looks unlikely.

Brighton are not interested in selling Minteh anytime soon, despite the many links, including Liverpool. The Seagulls are protected with a contract until 2029, which gives them plenty of leeway in negotiations, as the winger is not the only player Liverpool are looking at to replace Salah in the future. Anthony Gordon is seen as a long-term target, but like Minteh, there will be challenges to sign the England international.

AC Milan to offer West Ham's Fullkrug shock January move

West Ham United striker Niclas Fullkrug is reportedly being targeted by Italian giants AC Milan, who are set to compete with two other clubs for his signature in January.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Serie A leaders AC Milan have shortlisted Fullkrug as a target for January as Massimiliano Allegri looks to add a new forward to his squad. Milan want more cover up front due to the poor form and injury problems of summer signing Santiago Gimenez. Chelsea loanee Christopher Nkunku hasn't been prolific either, when playing in his absence.

Ruben Amorim Hints at January Transfer Activity After Sesko Injury Worry

Manchester United's 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur may have felt like a step forward in resilience, but for manager Ruben Amorim it brought a fresh dilemma. Benjamin Sesko, who entered as a second-half substitute, was forced off after just 30 minutes with a knee injury, leaving United to finish the match with ten men.

Amorim addressed the situation after the match, expressing concern over the severity of the problem. “We have to check,” he said. “He had something in his knee, let's see.” When pressed on whether the injury was serious, the Portuguese coach admitted, “I have no idea. Because it's the knee, we never know.”

Arsenal target Hertha Berlin youngster Kennet Eichhorn

Arsenal are 'leading' the chase for Hertha Berlin youngster Kennet Eichhorn this winter along with Manchester United, according to The Sun. The 16-year-old is being tipped for a bright future in the game and his current club could face a battle to keep hold of him down the line amid attention from elsewhere. The report adds that Liverpool, Barcelona and PSG have also scouted him.

Liverpool plotting €80 million move for Antoine Semenyo

Arne Slot's Liverpool are preparing a €80 million offer to sign Bournemouth attacking mainstay Antoine Semenyo.

Despite having spent a fortune to reinforce their attack in the last summer transfer window, Liverpool are still looking for more quality in the final third, and according to a report from Fichajes, the Reds have their eyes set on Antoine Semenyo. They are gearing up to make an €80 million offer to sign the Bournemouth winger.

Barcelona rule out triggering Rashford's option before summer

Barcelona sporting director Deco has ruled out triggering Marcus Rashford's buy option before next summer and he instead revealed an alternate plan for the January transfer window. Rashford, who joined the Catalan giants on a one-year loan deal after falling out of favour under Ruben Amorim at Manchester United, has made a bright start to his maiden campaign in La Liga.

Despite Rashford's impressive performance, Barcelona will not trigger the buy option in his contract in January as the club are not in a healthy position financially.

Liverpool told they will be 'fine' regarding Konate's future

Jamie Carragher insists Liverpool should not panic over Ibrahima Konate's future, saying his former club will be "absolutely fine" if the defender leaves on a free transfer next summer.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Carragher said: "I'd like him [Konate] to stay but if he doesn't stay, Liverpool will sign someone else. Liverpool won't fall apart if Konate leaves. He's not Virgil van Dijk. He's a good centre-back who you hope will sign, but if he doesn't want to sign, Liverpool will be absolutely fine. He's a very good centre-back, he's a title winner at Liverpool, he's played in the Champions League final against Real Madrid. He's obviously a quality centre-back. It's not poor management [if he goes for free]. You can't physically make somebody sign a contract. Then it's your decision, do you keep him to the length of his contract or do you sell him?"

Antony aiming to inspire kids after ending Man Utd nightmare

Antony is hoping to inspire young children as he shared valuable advice for the next generation of players. The Manchester United flop urged the kids to 'dream big', citing his own example of how he has revived his career at Real Betis.

At an event in Seville, Antony said: "Dream big. I've been through a lot and today I'm doing well, I'm happy. I went through a process and if I can give one piece of advice to all children, it's to always dream very big, because it's possible to achieve it. I am living proof of that, and I am very proud of the man I am, the father I am. I hope my story serves as an inspiration to many people; I am very proud to receive this award."

Messi could 'easily' join Galatasaray says president

Galatasaray club president Dursun Ozbek has dropped a massive hint that the Turkish giants will make a sensational move for Argentina maestro Lionel Messi.

"Did you say Messi? Galatasaray's most successful point is the transfers it has made," Ozbek is quoted as saying by Fanatik. "We didn't make too many transfers, but we made the transfers we needed, we kept the team. We kept the backbone of the team that became champion three years in a row, especially the whole team. I believe we built a successful team with transfers. We raised the bar very high. We made the highest transfer in the history of Turkish football. Galatasaray's economic level is suitable for these transfers."
