Chelsea exploring idea of Real Madrid defender Rudiger return

Chelsea are exploring the prospect of re-signing Real Madrid defender Toni Rudiger.

Off contract at the end of the season, the Germany international is yet to hear from Real management about a new deal.

Rudiger has been battling with a thigh injury over the past month, though is now nearing a playing return.

Marca says the veteran's preference is to extend his start with Real Madrid and hopes to prove his form and fitness over the second-half of the season.

In the meantime, offers from the Saudi Pro League have arrived, while former club Chelsea is also interested.

Chelsea have made it clear to the 32 year-old that they want to bring him back to London. A January move by the Blues hasn't been ruled out.
