Bryan Robson gives honest opinion on Amorim: You need three years to actually settle in

Manchester United legend Bryan Robson has opened up on manager Ruben Amorim and how he needs time to build something packed full of strength.

After their worst season in history last year, which saw United fail to grab European football and finish 15th in the Premier League table, Amorim’s side are slowly getting in to shape this season as they build character and form.0

The season started shakily, but now United will endeavour to put together a run of five games without defeat for the first time since January/February 2024 against Tottenham this weekend as things start to look up.0

Speaking at the Northwest Football Awards, where Robson was presented with the Lifetime Contribution Award, the former United star has backed Amorim and says every top manager deserves time to adapt and build something formidable.0

“I was a manager myself and I always felt that as a manager, you need three years to actually get a settled team for what you want to achieve. 0

“It’s very early for him, and we’ve made some really good signings. I can see us developing that little bit better and the club have got to give him that time. The fans have been really patient, and it is just about the players playing the best football they can and supporting the manager.0

“We have the quality and the ability now - especially with the new signings - to be able to go on and get into Europe and hopefully have an even better time by getting into the Champions League.”0

United have won five out of 10 games in the Premier League, including beating Liverpool at Anfield. Amorim has started to find his rhythm, the club are now only two points behind Manchester City in second. 0
