'Thomas Knows How Good Phil Is' - Guardiola Backs Foden For England Re-call

Man City boss Pep Guardiola has backed his Thomas Tuchel to 'do the best for your country' in regards to Phil Foden's England future.

Foden, 25, scored a brace as Man City eased to a 4-1 Champions League victory over Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday (November 5).

The midfielder is starting to rediscover the form that eluded him last season and saw him fall down the England pecking order.

Tuchel hasn’t called Foden up the national team since May, but Guardiola is backing the Man City ace to return soon.

Speaking after the win over Dortmund, he said: "I would say he is already there (back to his best form). He does not need to get closer.0

“He is already there. It is true we have missed goals, and he got two incredible goals.

"How many times have we seen that from Phil right? How many times? The generosity with the effort but also with the quality in the final third. We missed it a lot. I'm happy three more players scored goals and not just Erling Haaland.

"Thomas (Tuchel) knows perfectly how good Phil is and I'm sure he will do the best for your country."
