CRISTIANO RONALDO has revealed the heartwarming moment his daughters told him to propose to Georgina Rodriguez.

The couple announced their engagement in August, with Georgina showing off her huge diamond ring on social media.

She captioned her post: “Yes I do. In this and in all my lives.”

Now, Ronaldo has opened up about how the proposal took place and when he knew the time was right.

Speaking on Piers Morgan Uncensored, the five-time Ballon d’or winner explained: “I’m always saying the things, the good things, coming at the right time.

“And sometimes you need time to realise that, [so] you don’t do some mistakes… I think it’s the moment, not only because it’s the mother of my kids, but only it’s the person that I love more.

“It’s the love of my life. So I think it’s the right moment.

“Nothing’s going to change just because we’re gonna to get married. It’s just a beautiful chapter of life.

“It’s good… I knew it, that one day I will do that [propose], but I don’t know which way. You know, it’s difficult… When you propose your wife, you never know the moment, the scenario, the environment.

“I’m always saying that the good things coming in a natural way – football, life, opportunities, marriage.

And it was coming in a funny way, because she asked me something, she asked me for a ring to offer her because it was one of her dreams, to have a good stone.

“And I work, work hard, work hard, and I finally, I find what she loved and I speak with my guy and I say, ‘Listen, keep it’, we’re going to do it at dinner tonight, and after I’m going to offer to her. And this is what we did.”

He continued: “My two girls were coming and they said, ‘Daddy, you’re gonna give the ring to Mom and you’re going to ask her to be married?’

“And I said, ‘Wow, it’s the right moment to say yes’, I say ‘yes’…And Gio didn’t believe. I knew it that I will do it that one day.”

Asked by Piers Morgan if he had set a date for the wedding yet, he responded: “Not yet. We plan to do it after the World Cup with the trophy!

“But she is not the person that likes big parties. She doesn’t like it. She likes private things. So I will respect these decisions.”

And on the possibility of the former Sun columnist being invited to the stag do ahead of the big day, Ronaldo said: “Why not?! You are part of the family!”

The Portugal captain also admitted in the tell-all interview that seeing Manchester United strugging recently has made him sad.
