Manchester United have reportedly switched their focus to Newcastle midfielder Elliot Anderson after missing out on Carlos Baleba.

United were heavily linked with a move for Brighton’s Baleba before the season but were put off by the club’s 3100 million+ asking price.

Ruben Amorim is planning to overhaul his side’s midfield next season and is keen on signing Forest’s 22-year-old England international.

According to The Mirror, Anderson has become United’s top target following his rapid rise to prominence for both club and country.

It’s understood they believe Anderson would fit in well with Amorim’s needs for a central midfielder as he continues to be wedded to his ‘system.’
