Man United Determined to Sign Former Ruben Amorim Favourite Ousmane Diomande

Manchester United are reportedly determined to bring in Ousmane Diomande, the former Ruben Amorim favourite, as they look to bolster their squad.

According to Fichajes, Amorim is pushing the club to sign a new defender as he is unhappy with the options he currently has.

The report adds that the Portuguese manager has identified Diomande, 21, who he managed at Sporting, as his preferred option.

Man United would have to pay a fee of €50million for the Ivory Coast international, however, as they seek to build a squad capable of challenging for titles.

Diomande has established himself as a key player for Sporting, and one of the most exciting defensive prospects in Europe, although injuries have hampered his 2025-26 season so far.
