Potter "very humbled" taking Sweden job
Graham Potter is delighted taking charge of Sweden's national team.
The former West Ham and Chelsea manager was named Sweden coach today.
“Together with the players, I want to realise the supporters’ dream of a World Cup summer,” Potter said.
“I am very humbled by the mission, but also incredibly inspired. Sweden has fantastic players who deliver in the world's best leagues during the weeks. My job will be to create conditions so that we as a team deliver at the highest level to take Sweden to the World Cup next summer."
The agreement extends over the ongoing qualifying period with matches against Switzerland and Slovenia in November and a potential playoff in March, and automatically extended over the World Cup finals next summer if Sweden qualifies.
Meanwhile, Swedish FA chief Kim Kallstrom said: "It feels very good that Graham comes in as the manager of the men’s national team. We are all aware of the situation we are in, and believe that with his leadership skills he will get the team together in a good way.
"He is tactical skilled at creating the conditions for winning matches and has the ability to identify players' strengths and how they interact in the best way."
