Matthijs de Ligt Takes Aim at Two Liverpool Stars Targeted by Man Utd in Win

Matthijs de Ligt has revealed the two Liverpool players that Man United targeted during their shock Premier League win at Anfield on Sunday (October 19).

Man United earned back-to-back Premier League wins for the first time since Ruben Amorim replaced Erik ten Hag last November.

Summer signing Bryan Mbeumo gave United the lead after just 62 seconds, with Cody Gakpo bagging the equaliser in the 78th minute.

Six minutes later, Harry Maguire did it again, nodding Bruno Fernandes’ looping cross past Giorgi Mamardashvili to secure all three points.

Speaking to Viaplay after the game, De Ligt, 26, revealed the two players United targeted to earn help earn the win.

"We knew that Liverpool had weaknesses, and that's their full-backs,” he said.

"We were all really hyped, and the focus was very high. Today was a game that you really have to be concentrated."
