Ex-Man City boss eyes Man Utd job and ‘tells friends he can replace Ruben Amorim’

Former Man City manager Roberto Mancini has reportedly told friends that he would be interested in the Man United jobs if they sack Ruben Amorim.

Amorim, 40, relieved some pressure with a fairly comfortable 2-0 win over Sunderland at Old Trafford just before the international break.

United travel to Anfield on Sunday (October 19), however, which will likely be an entirely different kind of test for his beleaguered side.

According to The Sun, Mancini, who led Man City to their first ever Premier League title, has told close friends that he could be a surprise contender should Amorim get sacked.

The Italian has been out of work since leaving his position as Saudi Arabia manager a year ago and is now eager to get back into management.
