Haaland named as Premier League player of the month after five goals and one assist

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has been named as Premier League player of the month after an impressive run.

Haaland has scored the club's last five goals and has 12 in nine games this season and has been absolutely incredible under manager Pep Guardiola since the start of the season.0

The Manchester City striker enjoyed a phenomenal September after scoring five times, and producing an assist, in just three appearances against the likes of Burnley, Arsenal and rivals Manchester United.0

As confirmed as the Premier League, the Norwegian star has lifted the award for the fourth time in his illustrious career.0

“It is the first time Haaland has won the EA SPORTS Player of the Month since August 2024, following on from his previous successes in August 2022 and April 2023.0

“He wins after topping an eight-man shortlist after the public's votes on the EA SPORTS website were combined with those of a panel of football experts.”0

Speaking to the club website, Haaland says he is delighted about winning the award once again and hopes his side can keep up their fine form.0

“I’m really happy to win this award for a fourth time. It always means a lot, so thank you to everyone who voted for me. I also want to thank my teammates, the coaches and all the staff — we do everything together,” said Haaland.0

“September was an important month for us as a team. We played some really good football, stayed unbeaten, and got important wins for our fans. I’m happy I could help the team with goals and performances.0
