Kairat ace Kalmurza has played in both of his team's Champions League matches

Kairat goalkeeper Sherkhan Kalmurz, 18, has played in both of his team's Champions League matches this season against Sporting Lisbon and Real Madrid.

Kalmurza has conceded nine goals in the competition, five of which were at the hands of brutal Real on Tuesday at the Pavlodar Central Stadium in Kazakhstan.

But that didn't stop his mother Saule Rabayeva from taking to social media to praise her son's performances in Europe's elite competition.

Saule posted: "You are the best, my son! You are my pride. You did everything you could.

"For me, you are the strongest. Great heights are before you. Don't give up. I am with you and I always believe in you."

Saule quickly racked up almost 40,000 followers on Instagram alone with many fans left in awe and struggling to believe she is Kalmurza's mother.

One fan posted: "'Yo wait a minute! That's the mother? Lol."

Another commented: "No way that's his mother."

A third wrote: "The mother looks so young. Looks like 20s and her son is 18."

This fan said: "Unbelievable."

And one gushed: "Wow!"

Kairat sit top of the Kazakh Premier League after 24 games, conceding just 18 times with Kalmurza between the sticks.

Next up in the Champions League is a potentially-winnable fixture at home to Pafos on October 21.
