Liverpool suffer huge blow as midfielder withdraws from Japan squad: He limped a little bit

Liverpool have been dealt another major blow as midfielder Wataru Endo withdraws from the Japan squad through injury.

The Reds slipped to a third successive defeat in all competitions at the hands of Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last Saturday thanks to a late goal from Brazilian wonder kid Estevao.0

Endo came off the bench for the final few moments of the game, which was only his sixth appearance of the season in all competitions as his time on the pitch is reduced under manager Arne Slot.0

The extent of the injury is yet to be disclosed, but he has pulled out of the Japan squad, as confirmed by the club on Monday morning.0

“Wataru Endo has withdrawn from the Japan squad for their fixtures during the October international window.0

“The Liverpool midfielder had been selected by his country to participate in Kirin Challenge Cup matches against Paraguay and Brazil.0

“However, the Japan FA announced on Monday that Endo will not be involved, citing an injury.0

“Endo was a late substitute for the Reds on Saturday as they were beaten 2-1 at Chelsea in the Premier League.”0

Endo being out adds to the club’s injury list which includes Giovanni Leoni, Alisson Becker and Ibrahima Konate. 0

Although the 32-year-old is behind Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister and Curtis Jones in midfield, it does mean Slot now has less to rotate with heading into the clash with Manchester United.0
