Marseille Set to Make Permanent Move for Brighton’s Matt O’Riley in January
Marseille are reportedly convinced to sign Matt O’Riley on a permanent deal, with the French club preparing a January bid to buy the midfielder outright from Brighton.
The 24-year-old joined the French giants from Brighton on loan this summer and has impressed during his short spell.
O’Riley’s loan deal doesn’t include a buy option or obligation, but that won’t put them off from trying to signing him permanently in January.
According to LiveFoot, the higher ups have been impressed by his performances so far, and sporting director Medhi Benatia is pushing to get the deal done.
Roberto de Zerbi has used him primarily as a central midfielder but opted to play him as a number ten in the unfortunately 2-1 Champions League defeat to Real Madrid.
