Former Manchester City star David Silva has outlined the one role he'd like to see Pep Guardiola take on in the future.
"I'd like to see him as Spain's manager. Luis de la Fuente is doing a phenomenal job now, but it would be good to have Pep in the future," Silva said. Man Utd considered appointing Solskjaer before hiring Amorim
Manchester United parted ways with Erik ten Hag in October 2024 and replaced the Dutchman with Ruben Amorim from Sporting CP. However, according to The Sun, the Red Devils hierarchy had considered bringing back club legend and former coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to take up the manager's role once again if Amorim was unattainable.

Gerrard told how he'll eventually take over as Liverpool boss
Ex-Liverpool star Vladimir Smicer believes that Steven Gerrard should return to management as head coach of Wrexham or Birmingham.
Speaking to Boyle Sports, who offer the latest football odds, Smicer said: "It's important that if you sign for a club, you need to know where you want to go and what the club's ambitions are."It's not good to sign for a club that is financially struggling and has no future. Of course, Steven Gerrard has been a fantastic player, one of the best players I played with. "But as a manager, as I said, he's still very young. His name is big in England, Europe, and world football, Stevie is fantastic. I know his mentality, he's a winner. He definitely wants to go to a club where he feels he has a chance to win games, be a strong team, and build something. So if they show him plans for the future and he feels it's achievable, it's interesting for him."

Man Utd told why they must avoid 'brilliant manager' Oliver Glasner
Manchester United have been told to avoid Oliver Glasner as a potential successor for Ruben Amorim.
Former Arsenal midfielder Paul Merson, though, believes that Glasner would not be a good fit for United. "What a job he's done there - it's unbelievable really," Merson opened on his Sky Sports column. "He's a brilliant manager. He doesn't get too up and doesn't get too down. It's very impressive. He's put a team together and they are all very comfortable in their positions. Everyone knows their job in the team. He has the players for the system and that's huge.

Inaki Pena was "left with a bitter taste" after spending the latter half of the 2024-25 season on the bench, with Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick opting to play Wojciech Szczesny as the first-choice goalkeeper.

Man Utd tipped to reignite Martinez interest despite signing Lammens
Manchester United could revisit their interest in Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez in January, despite signing Senne Lammens earlier this year.
“I’m still surprised they didn’t get Martinez,” former United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider. “They wanted him, he wanted the move, but at the end of the day they couldn’t come to an agreement with Villa so the deal collapsed. They’ve gone and got Lammens now, but Amorim has been saying he still wants a goalkeeper, so the recruitment team will be looking at their options."

Everton eyeing swoop for Arsenal forward Gabriel Jesus
AS Roma Live has reported that Everton are keen on signing Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus, and will be prepared to match his £30 million price tag, therefore putting themselves in pole position to sign the Brazilian ahead of Roma themselves.
Gabriel Jesus is currently on the sidelines at Arsenal with an ACL injury, although he could return to action before 2026 after undergoing surgery on the rupture he suffered in January this year.
The 28-year-old does not have a place in Mikel Arteta’s plans after Viktor Gyokeres’ signing, however, and the Gunners are happy to offload him sooner rather than later, so a switch to Everton remains a strong possibility.

According to Sport Bild, RB Leipzig have no plans to extend Timo Werner’s contract, which runs until June 2026, and would prefer to sell him in January, even if it means accepting a cut-price fee. His €10 million-a-year wages remain a major issue, as he is the club’s top earner.
Amid the uncertainty over Werner’s future, Leipzig’s sister club New York Red Bulls are once again being tipped as a potential destination after showing interest in the summer. But the striker won’t be short of options. He is open to staying in the Bundesliga or testing himself again in England, France, or Spain, with a Premier League return very much on the table.
Muniz commits his future to Fulham
Brazilian forward Rodrigo Muniz has agreed to sign a new long-term deal with Fulham that will keep him at the club until June 2030, according to Fabrizio Romano. Barcelona sporting director Deco has opened up on Fermin Lopez's transfer away from the club that did not materialise in the summer transfer window.
