Atletico Madrid coach Simeone hails 200-goal Griezmann: Talent knows no age

Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone was delighted with their Champions League rout of Eintracht Frankfurt last night.

Atletico won 5-1 thanks to goals from Giacomo Raspadori, Robin Le Normand, Antoine Griezmann, Giuliano Simeone and Julian Alvarez.

Simeone said, "We played a very good match, managed well from the start. It's a very important victory.

"Goals give you confidence and points. The team has found the back of the net. We're improving in some defensive situations, and we still need to improve in attack."

A special mention went to Griezmann, who reached 200 goals for the Rojiblancos: "I'm grateful to him. When he arrived, he was a left winger, we convinced him to play as an attacking midfielder, and he became a world champion. Talent knows no age."

Simeone also said: "Raspadori could have played as a left midfielder, with more possession. We combined Griezmann with Juli1n and Raspadori, while Gallagher and Barrios brought balance. That's how we controlled the match."

Finally, he reflected on the future: "The team is improving; we need humility and to involve everyone. Even Baena, Almada, Sorloth: we'll need everyone. And we're working on set pieces, which have given us a lot in the past."
