Jurgen Klopp opens up on sacking Rose at RB Leipzig: Oh no! You’re s***!

Red Bull's head of global soccer Jurgen Klopp has revealed his thoughts on sacking Marco Rose at RB Leipzig.

After their 1-0 Bundesliga defeat by Borussia Monchengladbach, Rose was sacked by Klopp after two and a half years with Leipzig, who were sixth in the Bundesliga table at the time and three points off the Champions League places.0

It was a brutal blow from Klopp who left Liverpool in the summer of 2024, ending a nine-year reign with The Reds. Rose won 72 of his 125 matches in charge of Leipzig and even won two trophies in the form of the DFB-Pokal and German Supercup.0

However, in the end his team’s performances were not enough and Klopp spoke on sacking him in one of his first moves in his new role.0

"It’s not great. It will never be my hobby. But it’s things you have to do. What I want is to hire coaches for the right reasons. And if you finish working together, then it is also for the right reasons and not for the media asking for it."0

"I want to instil this (stability); more trust, going through the hard times," he added. "If you are convinced, then you are convinced. The world is like that: ‘Oh my God, you are great!’ Then it is, ‘Oh no! You’re s***.’ There’s no grey area anymore. And very often life is grey.”0

Klopp has no immediate plans to return to management as he explores life away from management. However, he is busy behind the scenes at Red Bull and appointed Ole Werner after Rose left in a move that has brought life to the side.0
