Inside Andre Onana's life with model wife as she joins Man Utd flop in Turkey

Andre Onana's wife has joined him in Turkey after his troubled spell with Manchester United led to a season-long loan at Trabzonspor.

Melanie Kamayou, who married the Cameroonian goalkeeper in 2023, has travelled with him across Europe, following her partner to Amsterdam, Milan, Manchester, and now Trabzon. She was recently spotted at Manchester Airport handling multiple suitcases after vacating their home.

Onana's £47million transfer from Inter Milan to Old Trafford was supposed to usher in an era of progressivism and consistency in goal. Instead, a series of costly errors tarnished his standing and left him exposed to criticism.

By the start of the month, his decline had seen him relegated to third-choice status behind Altay Bayindir and newcomer Senne Lammens. Trabzonspor then offered a loan lifeline - complete with an improved wage packet.

For the 29-year-old, it marked a much-needed reset after a tough period. But throughout his highs and lows, Melanie has been his anchor. A qualified pharmacist with a doctorate, Melanie isn't your stereotypical WAG.

She helps run the Andre Onana Foundation, which focuses on helping vulnerable children across Africa through healthcare programs and education. Beyond her academic career, she models professionally and commands a strong social media following, with over 70,000 fans on Instagram.

The couple, who began dating in 2019, exchanged vows in Paris two years ago and now raise a young son. Melanie has followed her husband from city to city as he navigates his football career, and has stuck by him through thick and thin.

Her devotion was clear during his 2021 doping case. After testing positive for furosemide, Onana faced a year-long suspension later reduced to nine months, arguing he had accidentally consumed medication belonging to Melanie.

Onana joined United shortly after his return to football, but the move brought fresh difficulties both on and off the pitch. Earlier this year, Melanie was held at knifepoint outside an Italian restaurant, losing both a Rolex watch and a Hermes Birkin handbag worth £62,000.

Although the perpetrator was eventually arrested, the terrifying episode added to their struggles in England, where Onana's shaky form and media criticism intensified the strain.

Now, in Trabzon, both face a new landscape - a football-mad city with fans eager for him to revive his career. As his Trabzonspor career kicks into gear, Melanie continues to stand at his side.
